Cornell, a member of the Ivy League, is one of the nation's top universities and located in upstate NY in Ithaca, one hour southwest of Syracuse and four hours northwest of NYC.

Founded in 1865 by Ezra Cornell and Andrew Dickson White, Cornell is a member of the prestigious Ivy League. It is a unique university featuring a blend of four private and three public-supported colleges. As New York's land-grant university, Cornell has state supported undergraduate schools in: Agriculture & Life Sciences, Human Economics, Industrial & Labor Relations. The four private colleges are: Architecture & Planning, Arts & Sciences, Engineering, Hotel Management.

The Ithaca campus is made up of 628 buildings on over 2,000 acres.

Cornell built a new technology campus on Roosevelt Island in NYC in a partnership with Technion - Israel Institute of Technology. The project received a $350 million donation from Cornell alumnus Charles Feeney and officially opened in fall of 2017.

Tuition at Cornell's private colleges for 2021 was $60,286 per year. At the publicly-supported colleges, tuition is $40,382 per year for NY state residents and $60,286 for out-of-state-residents. Including personal expenses, dining and housing, costs can add an additional $19,000.

27% of undergraduate and graduate students at Cornell are from New York state.

Cornell also has graduate schools in business, law and veterinary medicine in Ithaca. Weill Cornell Medicine, formerly Cornell Medical College, is located in New York City and also has a medical school in Doha, Qatar.

The number of employees at Cornell includes 1,695 faculty, 1,129 academic professionals and 7,420 staff members.

There were 23,620 graduate, professional and undergraduate students attending Cornell in fall 2020.

Cornell received 47,038 applications in 2021 and 5,889 were accepted. The acceptance rate was 12.5%.

Martha Pollack became the 14th President of Cornell on April 17, 2017.
