Verizon Wireless operates the largest cellular phone service in the nation with 112.1 million retail customers.

Total revenues for 2015 at Verizon Wireless were $91.7 billion, up 4.6 percent over 2014.

Average revenue per account at Verizon Wireless was $152.63 per month at the end of 2015, down 4.5% for the year. Smartphones accounted for 73 million users in the company's customer base.

The company sells phones from over 1,700 retail stores and kiosks nationwide. The company launched the largest 4G LTE Network in the country in December 2010 and is now available in over 500 markets across the U.S. reaching 95% of the population.

Verizon Wireless offers a variety of phones and service plans including regular cell phones, smart phones, and tablets.

Features offered by Verizon Wireless include: Mobile Broadband for staying connected coast to coast on laptops, tablets, smartphones and other non-traditional wireless devices; Verizon Tones for ringtones and ringback tones; Verizon Video for full-length videos of popular cable and broadcast shows, Verizon Apps for 3D games and other apps; Text and picture messaging.

Verizon began selling Apple's iPhone on its network on February 10, 2011. Verizon also sells phones from Samsung, Motorola, HTC, Nokia, LG, Kyocera and Pantech.

The company recently introduced Verizon Edge, a flexible equipment payment plan that spreads the retail price of a phone over 24 months. You can also upgrade to a new phone after six months if 50 percent of the retail cost has been paid.

Verizon Wireless has 175 switching facilities and over 23,000 cell sites. Headquarters are in Basking Ridge, NJ.

Short-term incentive
As part of our Total Rewards Program, Verizon Wireless provides a yearly short-term Incentive (cash bonus) designed to reward an employee for both Company and individual performance. All regular, full-time and/or part-time employees who are actively at work on the last day of the plan year and are not covered under a sales incentive plan are eligible to participate in the program.
Long-term incentive
Verizon Wireless offers employees Value Appreciation Rights (VARS). Like stock options, VARs allow employees to share in the increasing value of Verizon Wireless. Subject to certain employment eligibility requirements, full-time and part-time employees who work at least 20 hours per week are eligible for this long-term incentive program. It delivers value to you based on the change in the value of the company. If and when the company goes public, VARs may convert into stock options.
